# Review a local clip

Select a permitted clip and keep its source, interval, subject area and original result together.

Content revision: 9
Platforms: mac, iphone, agent

Choose the Mac's local clip picker for a file already on that Mac. Use an exchange file when starting on iPhone or iPad.

## Create an exchange file on iPhone or iPad

In a build with clip exchange support, open **Show a clip** from Home. Choose one MP4, MOV or WebM file up to 32 MiB. Roboty retains the exact picked bytes in this device's private selected-file storage. It does not record a camera or upload the clip.

Choose the named destination Mac through **Choose Mac**. Review the license or permission, source or creator, attribution and local-use declaration. Choose **Create exchange file for** that Mac. The file contains the whole selected clip and its rights metadata. An analysis interval is chosen later on the Mac.

**Save or share exchange file** opens the system sharing interface with a copy of the binary `.robotyclip` file. Choose where to save it or whether to send it. Creating the file alone does neither. Save the file on its named Mac before opening it there. The destination label does not route the file automatically. Cloud sync can remain off.

**Check original export** keeps the same source, destination and export identity. Reopening or returning from the background requires this check before saving or sharing again. A partial output stays retained. A missing completed output is reported unavailable and is not recreated. Do not replace an uncertain export with a new identity. Changing the selected Mac does not retarget an existing export.

The current selected copy and unfinished exports stay protected in the existing selected-file owner. Storage and export counts are finite. A capacity or unresolved-file error keeps the original records and requires review through that owning workspace. Roboty does not prune files by age or overwrite partial exports.

If saving a new clip review is unconfirmed, selection and export stay paused. Reopen Roboty to check the review actually saved on this device. Both the earlier and new selected copies stay protected until that check resolves the change. A mismatched older record stays unresolved for review through its original workspace.

## Receive an exchange file on Mac

Open **Show a clip**, open the receiving Mac's workspace, then choose **Review exchange file**. Select the actual local `.robotyclip` file. A phone path cannot identify bytes on a Mac.

Review its clip name, named destination, rights and exchange details. The origin installation is claimed metadata. The file does not authenticate its sender. Roboty verifies the packet and payload separately through this Mac's local owner. Confirm **I reviewed this clip's rights for local use on this Mac**, then check availability and choose **Import reviewed clip**.

Import uses the file's original import identity and copies only its selected clip payload. It does not analyze, upload, train or grant movement authority. **Check original operation**, cancellation and recovery keep that same import identity. A changed packet, wrong destination or missing receiving review prevents import. Removed retained raw bytes are not reimported by reopening the exchange file.

In a build with retained playback support, **Review source interval** plays the imported payload after import. Moving the exchange file does not change those retained bytes. The source, packet and payload keep separate identities. Declared rights and byte verification do not prove the clip's content or suitability.

## Choose a clip on its Mac

In a build with selected-clip support, open **Show a clip** in the Mac sidebar. Open this Mac's workspace if requested, then choose **Choose local clip**. Select one MP4, MOV or WebM file owned by you, up to 32 MiB. Cancel keeps your earlier selection.

The original file stays where you selected it. After import, **Review source interval** offers playback of Roboty's exact retained copy where supported. Moving the external file does not require another import. An unavailable preview keeps the selection and review. Playback support and analysis support are checked separately.

Choose **Review exchange file** for a `.robotyclip` file. The local movie picker and the exchange-file review are separate paths. Native connection alone does not send media bytes.

## Review rights and interval

Enter the license or permission, source or creator, and attribution. Confirm that you reviewed permission for local use. Roboty records your declaration. It does not verify rights or treat it as permission to upload, publish or train.

Choose start and end times within the first minute. Select up to 20 seconds, at 1 to 8 samples per second, with at most 160 samples. Choose **Check availability on this Mac** before intake. When the local media adapter responds, **Import reviewed clip** can make a private copy through this Mac's media owner. This does not establish inference readiness. A changed original file fails the byte check and needs a new selection and review.

Imported rights stay with that source. Choose another clip to make a different rights declaration. Changing the interval or subject area makes an earlier interpretation out of date. It does not rerun analysis automatically.

## Choose the subject area on Mac

Choose **Full frame** or **Selected subject region** for the named clip and interval. Full frame sends the whole image. Other visible people may make the subject ambiguous. A selected area records your choice. It does not prove that the estimator recognizes that person or resolves missing and occluded observations.

After import, **Review source interval** opens verified retained playback without starting it. Playback keeps the full frame and uses the current interval. Pause where your subject is visible, then choose **Mark subject region** and drag across that paused frame. The outline marks the analysis input. Review the subject throughout the selected interval before confirming.

Mac playback currently accepts supported MP4 or MOV files that contain all their media. WebM stays retained for compatible analysis but cannot play here. Linked clips and unsupported layouts or codecs also remain unavailable. Your selection, review and original operations stay saved.

You can also enter **Left edge**, **Top edge**, **Width** and **Height** as frame percentages. Keep the area inside the original frame. Width and height must each cover at least 25% of that frame. A short drag stays invalid instead of silently expanding. Percentages refer to the original frame before display rotation. The marking tool maps supported rotation and mirroring back to those coordinates. An unsupported display transform leaves marking unavailable and explains the independent review needed for numeric input.

Switching to full frame keeps the other region draft on this device. Switching back restores its coordinates and requires a new analysis confirmation. Back and reopening keep the current clip review.

Local and received clips use the same retained playback review. Missing or removed bytes stay unavailable. Roboty does not reopen an external file or recreate a missing source to make playback succeed. An unavailable preview does not establish that a selection is correct.

Closing the preview, leaving Show or making the window inactive closes playback. Open it again to check the current retained source and rights. Reopening Roboty keeps the review, not a second playback copy. If a current source check fails, playback closes. A check is not a promise to erase bytes already displayed or copied elsewhere.

## Check analysis availability

Choose **Check availability on this Mac**. A present model or decoder alone does not establish readiness. **More details** separates the media component, application admission and installed qualification. **Installed files verified** checks the selected files. **Required when analysis starts** means admission still has to succeed for that request. Neither establishes installed qualification or robot movement.

When the runtime reports eligibility, review the selected clip and target before choosing **Analyze selected interval**. Admission still has to succeed for that request. If the media component or admission is unavailable, keep the selected source and use the displayed reason. Roboty does not substitute a prepared animation for the clip's interpretation.

## Choose a declared preview target

Choose one named target from this Mac's list. Even a single available target needs your explicit selection. Review its channel, unit, frame, declared basis and limitations. After importing the clip, confirm **I reviewed this source, interval, subject area and declared target**. Invalid interval or region entries keep that confirmation unavailable.

**Declared SO-101 shoulder preview** uses a declared neutral pose for one shoulder joint. It has no measured robot state, physical installation or calibration. It cannot move a robot. Its presence does not make analysis available.

The selected target stays with the original source, interval, subject area and request. A changed target reference clears its selection and review. Changing the interval or area also clears confirmation. Replacing the source starts a separate review. An earlier operation keeps its own original input, target and digest. No topology, benchmark robot or measured pose is filled in by the screen.

Where analysis is actually available, **Analyze selected interval** submits that reviewed source, interval, optional region and exact named target. **Operation details** keeps the original subject area and interval visible. A result stays data only and needs its separate validation.

## Keep the original operation

The operation's original identity is retained before a request is sent. **Check original operation** inspects that same request. **Cancel original operation** asks its existing owner to stop. A cancellation acknowledgement does not confirm that the worker has stopped. Keep checking the original result when release is unconfirmed.

Leaving Show or reopening Roboty keeps the original selection and operation. It does not create a replacement job or reimport removed bytes. A pending operation blocks replacement of the clip and switching libraries. Return to its original Mac and library if the owner changed.

For an interrupted original, **Reconcile original operation** asks its existing owner to check retained evidence at the checked original revision. An active worker must stop first. Recovery cannot restart analysis, recover a candidate or repeat a file import or removal. Missing cleanup or worker evidence keeps the original unresolved.

Roboty saves a separate recovery request before sending it. If its acknowledgement is lost, use **Check recovery request**. That checks the same request without sending recovery again. A confirmed recovery then checks the original operation's actual result. Until both checks are retained, the clip and library stay protected from replacement. Reopening Roboty keeps both requests. Do not reimport or create another job to clear uncertainty.

## Read an inert result

An interpretation can be blocked by missing samples, ambiguity, an unsupported view or an unavailable mapping. Keep that reason with the original source. A data-only candidate identifies its source interval, named channels, units and mapping. It has no movement authority, and trajectory validation has not run. It is not a learned skill or proof of physical recognizability.

**Read original analysis** checks the retained artifact's exact bytes, digest, source, interval and subject region before displaying original timestamps, missingness and ambiguity. Displaying those values does not replace their original artifact. No missing sample is filled by this screen.

## Save a private motion preview on Mac

In a build with saved motion support, name the inert candidate and choose **Save motion to Library**. The destination is this Mac's actual Library. It is separate from the declared preview target and the Mac's own identity. **Read Library destination on this Mac** refreshes that destination if it is unavailable.

The save uses the original completed analysis, its exact target and its retained proposal. If you changed the current review, those changes are not included in the earlier candidate. Saving does not run analysis again, validate a trajectory or make the motion executable.

Roboty retains a separate original motion Save before sending it. If its result is unconfirmed, use **Check original motion Save** or **Cancel original motion Save**. Both inspect that same publication. Cancel cannot discard an uncertain Save or release a partial publication. Keep the original Save, analysis and Library until the result is confirmed. An uncertain Save blocks another clip, saved preview or Library switch through reopen.

## Reopen the exact saved version

Choose the saved motion in **Library**, then **Open saved preview in Show**. **Open saved preview** also opens the version confirmed by the original Save. The preview reads that exact version and its frozen target and provenance on its original Mac. It does not use today's target or repeat perception. **Back to clip review** returns to the retained source review. The top Back action returns to the page that opened Show.

If the saved payload is missing or changed, the exact version stays selected and is unavailable. Use **Read exact saved preview** to check it again. Roboty does not recreate derived bytes, substitute a newer version or reimport removed source media. Removing raw clip bytes does not itself remove an intact saved motion.

Saved motion remains private local content. Export, sync, adaptation, experiment materialization and execution are unavailable. A local-use declaration does not authorize redistribution or training.

## Remove only the retained raw copy

Choose **Remove retained raw copy**, then confirm the named clip. This removes Roboty's managed selection deliberately. The original external file stays in place. Source metadata and derived analysis stay retained. Another selection may still need the same bytes. Raw removal does not erase evidence or clear an uncertain operation.

Removing the Mac's raw copy does not remove exchange files saved or shared elsewhere, or the originating device's selected copy.
